Gender is a mailing list for discussing all aspects of gender and (biological) sex issues. The list was created by Eric Garrison in the fall 1992. In february 1996 Thomas Gramstad took over the administration of the Gender list. While I don't want to limit discussion by rigidly defining what exactly "gender issues" includes, I will say that a primary concern of the Gender list has always been to provide an open-minded forum for discussion of gender stereotypes vs. individuality, gender roles, and particularly how people can get beyond these restrictions.
There is an archive that you can access whether or not you subscribe to the list.
In order to post to the list, send your posting to this address: gender@ifi.uio.no. You will receive a copy of your own posting via the list when it is distributed.
The gender mailing list is being archived with ListQuest, a fast and flexible searchable system at http://www.listquest.com/.
Starting august 2000, the list is also archived at http://ifi-lists.uio.no/mailman/listinfo/gender@ifi.uio.no, available to subscribed addresses.
