OpenBSD: On the horizon

Ongoing work on major features that will appear in –current soon and hopefully be in OpenBSD 6.1 (tentatively May 1st, 2017):

OpenBSD vmm(8) - Native hypervisor on amd64 / i386 has been in -current snapshots for a while, kernel parts enabled in GENERIC just after 6.0 (we already do LDOMs on SPARC64)

OpenBSD switchd(8) - software-defined networking (SDN) sflow controller for your vmm(8) virtual networking needs

Proper SMPization of network stack (out from under biglock) is in progress

Binary patches for supported releases (the last two)

+ incremental improvements everywhere
